Justice H.R. Khanna

Justice Hans Raj Khanna, B.A., LL.B - Born, 3rd July, 1912. Educated at DAV High School, Hindu College, Khalsa College, Amritsar and Law College, Lahore. Advocate of the Former Lahore High Court on 20th December, 1940. Practised mostly Civil cases at Amritsar while at the Bar. Appointed Districts and Sessions Judge in Punjab on 1st February, 1952 and confirmed on 2nd December, 1954. Appointed as an Additional Judge of the Punjab High Court for two years from 7th May, 1962. Permanent Judge on 30th April, 1964. Transferred to Delhi High Court on 31.10.1966. Appointed Chief Justice on 1.8.1969. Appointed Judge, Supreme Court on 22.9.1971. Resigned on 12.3.1977.
