Justice Sunita Gupta

• Born on 14th December, 1954 at Kolkata, West Bengal.
• Did Higher Secondary from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in First Division in the year 1970; B.A(Hons.) Philosophy from Miranda House, University of Delhi in 1973; Post Graduation in Philosophy, University of Delhi in 1975.

• Did LL.B from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi in 1978 and secured first position. 
Was awarded Hiralal Daga Memorial Gold Medal for securing first position. Was also awarded University Law Union Prize and Certificate of Merit for securing first position.

• LL.M from Kurukshetra University in 2002.

• Enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Delhi in 1978 and practised at District Courts of Delhi before joining Delhi Judicial Service in the year 1980.

• Worked as Metropolitan Magistrate, Civil Judge, Additional Rent Controller, Mahila Court and ACMM before being promoted to Delhi Higher Judicial Service in November, 1996. 

• Presided over as Additional District Judge, Addl. Sessions Judge, Matrimonial Court, Special Judge (NDPS), Appellate Tribunal MCD before being appointed as District Judge–cum-Additional Sessions Judge In-Charge, North-East District, Karkardooma Court in 2008. 

• Appointed as District & Sessions Judge/ Rent Control Tribunal, Delhi on 17th October, 2011.

• Trained and worked as Mediator.

• Elevated as Additional Judge of High Court of Delhi on 17th April, 2013 and as Permanent Judge on 18.03.2015.

• Retired on 13.12.2016.
